Security related to Fields Input

My question relates to Community Builder.

The question is: How secure is input put into any fields in CB, especially the 'open' ones like textarea, textarea-with-editor, textfield.

I know i have the possibility to restrict input especially per using regex-patterns ( -> ( Field entry validation" ).

But how secure are the fields, when such patterns are NOT set and the default ( "Any string (/.*/)" ) is set ?!


Or am i worrying in vain ( and those regex-filters are just an luxorious, but not a necessary feature )?

How secure in what regards? All fields, even those that permit HTML, are cleaned of all possible vulnerabilities so it's not possible for a site to be compromised by any of CB (does not include 3rd party plugins, but if they use API they are just as secure).
