Language DEFINE value show problem

I have added the following entry into the language file (xx-xx subfolder):
DEFINE('_UE_SEX_DESC','........') ;

I have included into the description of a new field that I have created. The page shows _UE_SEX_DESC.
If I include it into the title of the same field it works fine (shows .......)!!!
Also I want to include other language specific variables into registeration form like 'Concluding text for registration'.

Make sure that nothing else is added by your html editor.
E.g., p tags.
