Password is a 1 way encryption, it can't be reversed. As for everything else, no there is no encryption. If you're meaning does it encrypt data during transmission of course not at least not without SSL.

No idea. I've no experience with such an extension. I also do not recommend trying to substitute an extension for SSL.
