CB Privacy - replace and beautify selectbox ?

just curious if there is a clean and update-savvy way to beautify the privacy selectbox. Especially on register form it looks strange and and too dominant, IMHO. I am looking for a much smaller display, and maybe a different color code per option.

I guess, you all know the smaller JomSocial lock-icon and privacy menu. More or less what I am after... though, the icons and colors could be more recognizable/noticable:

Many many, if not all, visual aspects of CB will change with 2.0 (completely upgraded and modernized). Privacy settings will also become built in (as with many of the incubator projects). For now I suppose you can try using CSS to adjust its display or even use CB Auto Actions to apply jQuery to the header and redesign it completely.

You make me go "mmh" It sounds like CB2.0 is not so far away!?

Thanks for the hint about AutoActions. I wish I had more sparetime to dig into jQuery etc.
