Then you'll need to use a solution as detailed in the beginning of this topic that uses a simple dropdown fieldtype with some CSS. For example you'd create a dropdown with your colors which could be "Red", "Blue", "Green". You'd then you'd inspect the dropdown with Firebug for Firefix and review the id property of the dropdowns options, which you can use in your CSS to style their backgrounds to the color of the option.
