You can adjust the maximum size for the Avatar field only by editing the avatar field within CB > Field Management and adjusting the size parameters. You can adjust images globally within CB > Configuration > Images.
To change the default image you need to edit/replace the default image within your CB template files. For example the default template avatar images are located as follows.

Okay. Thanks. Looks like both the CB Global controls and Avatar field controls work on uploaded images and do not effect the sizing of the default files.

Thanks again. So, I replaced the file nophoto_n.png but both new members and previous users still have the old avatar. It looks like this should be the correct file to replace. Am I missing something?
