[SOLVED] CBSubs User Modification

[SOLVED] CBSubs User Modification was created by jorjones
I have a site running Joomla 1.5.26, CB 1.8, and CB Subs 2.0.1, recently migrated to include CB and CB Subs from a site that did not have those. The site also has VirtueMart 1.1.9. The site runs on PHP 5.3.8.

In most cases (although it does not appear to be 100% of the time), I cannot update user accounts in CB User Management. When I fill in what should be valid data, I am thrown to the CB credits / front page, and the input is not saved.

Seams like some sort of conflict. Normally this happens when a 3rd party CB plugin or Joomla system plugin hijacks the post. Please enable debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration. Once done test editing users and see if you can reproduce and review if there are any on-screen errors (do not need the debug data at bottom of page).

I have debug mode with maximum reporting on.

No error message appears, though I am thrown back on the CB credits page as previously.

There are detailed logs on the bottom of the page of course.

New users can be created without a problem, the main issue seems to be with users created previously with VirtueMart.

Run the tools found in CB > Tools to see if it can synchronize the Joomla user with CB properly. If still persisting disable 3rd party (non-core) CB plugins 1 by 1 until resolved. If still present repeat with 3rd party (non-core) Joomla system and user plugins.

OK. The issue is now resolved. I went through all the CB Subs, CB, and other components and disabled things one by one. I was about to give up, since I've got so many things running on the site, and it's a production site with 5,000 members.... Nothing was seeming to work, but I did start to notice a transient message and get a screen capture of it.

It read:

Unable to load listSubscribe()! Code=232 Msg=There is no record of the unique_id "" in your account

Googling on this pointed me to the JooMailer (MailChimp) plug-in.

The issue is mentioned at: www.joomlamailer.com/topic.html?id=194

It appears that for any member who is not on a MailChimp list, the plug-in doesn't find them, throws this error, and then drops the save. (It would be better, of course, if they went forward with the save before checking the lists, and then adding them, or not adding them, so a failure would not stop all CB user modifications!)
