Member lists very slow

Hi,
I've got Joomla 2.5.6 and Community Builder 1.8.1 with CB Subs 2.0.1 and everything seems to work fine except for one thing - it takes forever to load the member list.
I've not got a very large database only 153 rows and it seems to take very long to load that. It also takes quite some time only to get to your own CB-page when you login though not so long as to show the list.
This is a small association/membership page that needs to show a list of all members publicly, but not quite all information.
Could you please direct me to where I need to look to fix this problem?
I saw in the forums some other had this problems and you suggested to look into indexing the database?

You don't need site specific indexing until you hit 50,000 user mark. You should have near zero database performance issues with only 153 users. Seams like maybe something else is causing the long load. Although you probably shouldn't have all 150 entries displayed on 1 page. Try enabling paging within userlist edit and set it to something like 20 entries per page. All my performance tests are showing the slowdown coming from server end, please ensure you're not using one of those extremely low grade or even free hosting packages as they are not sufficient for a Joomla site.
