Well you'd want mutual consent for this I'd think so it'd need to be more complex then that. You'll probably need to create a new fieldtype plugin for such a thing. You could also use Connections and just add a connection type for Wife, Husband, Girlfriend, and Boyfriend then they mark the person as either of those types.
