Issue with Auto Confirm and Approve Users

Here is our setup details:
  • Joomla 1.5.26
  • CB 1.8.8
  • CB Login Module used for loggin in.


Joomla registration is Disabled.

User Settings:
  • Allow User Registration - No
  • New User Account Activation - No

We only use Gmail Authentication for our Google Apps Domain name.

Under CB Settings, we have;
  • Require Admin Approval : NO
  • Require Email Confirmation : NO


When the user tries to update the profile... they still get:

This user has not yet confirmed his email address and account!
This user has not yet been approved by a moderator!


Please help.

Check within CB > User Management and ensure they're approved/confirmed/enabled. If not you probably have email confirmation and moderator approval enabled within CB > Configuration > Registration. I assume you meant you've CB 1.8.1 and not CB 1.8.8 (doesn't exist) and if not on CB 1.8.1 yet, please upgrade.

Sorry, we are using CB 1.8.1

Under CB Settings, we have the following configured:

Require Admin Approval : NO
Require Email Confirmation : NO

However, when a new user tries to login and update the profile they keep getting

This user has not yet confirmed his email address and account!
This user has not yet been approved by a moderator!

If we change the CB configurations to:

Require Admin Approval : NO
Require Email Confirmation : YES

Then, the user gets an email with a confirmation link... upon clicking it still says that user needs to be approved by the admin.

please advice if you need any other information in order to troubleshoot this issue.

If they're not confirmed or approved they can't even login. Please check that they're all green within CB > User Management. I suspect this is coming from something other then CB.
