Check value at registration

Thanks, but the first question is still unanswered.

1. Is it possible to change the fault message and where do I do it?

If you sometime plan to develop the plugin I think that two things would be desirable.

1. A field where you can change the fault message.

2. An option where you set if the plugin should fail if the query is found in the db or if it isn't.

As its been awhile there has been a new plugin that can replace DB Lookup. You can use CB Query Field to have query validation on any core field now. What this does is validate the value the user supplied against the database. Meaning you can have a text field that checks the database to see if any rows exist already with that value. The error message CB Query Field outputs is entirely up to you as a parameter when configuring the query validation. Since it's validation it will properly fail the registration process if it doesn't validate.
