Would it be possible to add viewers for files uploaded in groupjive groups with lightbox for instance ?

Not supported.
The files are viewable for everyone in the group the same way.

No what I meant was a viewer to preview the file before downloading it.

For instance preview in a lightbox a thumbnail or a snapshot of first page

Anything is possible.
Such a feature is not however implemented and not sure how useful / needed it is.

I will certainly ask Kyle to respond when he is back from much needed vacation next week.

Any news on this question? I also have a need for this function, although not the light box, just thumbnails.

You can't view uploaded files. It uses http headers to send the file securely for download without exposing its location. Only certain files would be allowed to open anyway like PDT or TXT. Only way to change this is to edit the file integration and change in the header for it to open instead of be an attachment.
