[bug?] email validation was created by ThePiston
Is there no longer a forum in the forge?

If you input a bad email address into the email field, it'll give you a pink message box that says "Please enter a valid email address."

If you then put in a correct email address, the pink turns to yellow but it still says "Please enter a valid email address."

sorry if I posted this in wrong forum

using CB 1.8.1

CB 2.3, CBsubs 4.3, PHP 7.1, J! 3.9.X

Not sure why this is a CB Conditional bug? CB Conditional has nothing to do with field AJAX validation. Please disable CB Conditional and see if issue persists (not likely to do anything). Yes, forge forums are closed; all support should be done here from now on.

If it displays "error" that usually means you clicked Register or Save before AJAX completed (it does this so it doesn't stall the POST, it's normal). If it's displaying this after waiting for the check to complete it typically means a permissions issue reaching CB (missing public and published menu link?) or some sort of SEF issue (rewriting the AJAX URL incorrectly). I suggest using Firebug for Firefox or F12 in Chrome then watch the Network tabs and see what happens to the POST sent.
