I have been trying to get this auto action to work but it is only placing the following text "[get_CID]" in the field. I have tried without the brackets as well, and it sets the field to be "get_CID".
How can I get the value from the ...url?CID=123456 in the auto action.
The registration form POSTs, by then your GET variables are lost. You need to take the GET variable on registration form display and pass it to a hidden input on the page (JS or jQuery in a Code action) then grab it from POST with your after registration trigger usage.
