[SOLVED] Cookie Creation? was created by jpc0480
Something that I have noticed for quite some time, but never really paid much attention too until now; When logged in and you click a BB Code link where it opens the page in a new tab, it doesn't share the session to the following page, telling users that they have to log in again? It happens mainly in Kunena when a users posts a link to a page specific in the site that is for "registered users" only and in UddeIM where they receive a connections mail and when you click "Manage Connections" it opens in a new tab where it says, "you are not allowed to view this page".

It also happens with the BB Code that is posted on profile tabs such as, the wall, or the profile blog tab.

I wasn't sure if this was a known issue? I have upgraded to the latest versions of both CB and Kunena.

I'm using:
Kunena 3.0
CB 1.9
Joomla 2.5.11

CB doesn't create a cookie or a session for that matter. Our login API simply routes our usage straight to Joomlas API. If you're having problems with sessions or cookies then review why Joomla isn't maintaining them or why your browser keeps clearing your session cookie.

It could be as simple as URL issue. For example if I go to example.come and login then go to www.example.com I won't be logged in. The reason for this is they are 2 different domains (www. is a fake subdomain). So perhaps the links are just wrong? You could put a domain redirect in your hosting panel (if your host allows it) or use htaccess to redirect so the user is always at the appropriate domain.

We always overlook the small things ;)

All of my site links are in fact pointing to domain.net. The BB Code is pointing everything to www.domain.net which is exactly what is causing the problem. Would it be better to just add the www. in Joomla or remove it from the BB Code?

I'm using:
Kunena 3.0
CB 1.9
Joomla 2.5.11

Add a domain redirect (not all hosts support this) or a htaccess redirect to ensure users always stay at either/or domain. This will prevent the issue from ever further happening.
