[SOLVED] CB Content Plugin Help

Hi

Being a real noobie but I was wondering if some one can help put me on the right path. I have installed the CB Content plugin which appears as 'Content - Community Builder' in my joomla plugin manager but I can't work out how I actually use this within my CB profiles. It doesn't appear in any modules lists or in CB tab/plugins lists.

The instructions supplied don't seem to cover these early steps:( can someone help please?

Joomla: 1.5.23
CB: 1.8.1
CB Content: 2.1.0

The CB Content plugin is for use within joomla content.

This plugin allows tabs, fields, and more to be displayed within content items using Community Builder substitutions. Format: {cb:[substitution]}

for eg. if you want to write a user's name with a link to his CB profile in an article or maybe a an entire TAB. so if i want to write a line with your username link it would be like:
A member of the joomlapolis forum Mr. {cb: [formatname userid=##]} where "##" will be your user id in Community Builder.
Please tell me what exactly you want to do in CB tab/plugins and maybe i can help you.

I would like to create a new area on all profiles where I can display links to Private Message Plugins etc. Ideally I would like to apply specific permission so that only certain profiles can view the links.

Would this be done as tabs or as a HTML module position? or event something very different??

Tabs would be a better way of doing things, especially if you are using CB fields but then again PMS plugins are essentially just integrations of 3rd party components so you might want to use their own modules. Plus the HTML Module positions give you more control on which users can see this or not! have a look at the CB Content MODULE they have here.

Do you know how I can get this to display on a profile page?

You can display it on a profile page by publishing it only to the mandatory CB Profile menu item and adding the parameter user=#displayed in the cb content module options
e.g. where the number 17 is actually the CB Tab id of the id you want to use.
