Member Badges

Sorry if this is something I have missed inthe documentation of forums, but having searched I haven't found anything yet.

I would like to enable badges for the members. The requirement I have is that moderators and admins of the site can award badges, and they are posted on the member's profile. In addition to that, I would like it, but it is not a 'need' if there were additional badges members could award to each other, without admin/moderator intervention.

I see that the profiles here on joomlapolis have the badges (I have two; professional member and CBSubs...) - that is basically what I wish.

What you are seeing here is using the CBSubs plan images plugin that is documented and explained (with nice examples) in the CBSubs documentation.

It basically automatically gives plan subscribers an image (new CB image plan field type is created) that shows up for valid subscribers and is removed when subscription ends.

just to let you know: we also use Member Badges that we either automatically award but also manually give for certain actions.

My personal wishlist item: Joomlapolis integrating natively the alphauserpoints functions. Reason? Love the Joomlapolis programming and truly believe that these things should be part in a community system...

I apologize; I have tried to refer to the manual as often as possible, but is a behemoth text that is not easy for me to read through. I will double check the plan images section.

Is there any official or 'joomlapolis supported' plugin which does what I want? I looked into AlphaUserPoints as suggested by herzensache, and while it could be adapted to work, it is not quite what I want. Mainly I am just looking for administrators and moderators to be able to award one or more badges, and possibly also allow users to award badges to each other. I don't need any points system or anything like that; just the badge images on the profile.

The only badges we have are those provided by the CBSubs Plans Image integration. It adds a new field type to CB > Field Management that lets you select hat plans to display. You then edit your plans and assign an image to said plan, which will display in the field (if the plan is selected in that field) when they've an active subscription. After configuration this is all automated, no admin interaction and you can't assign badges to users through this integration either.

If you want to assign badges the best I can suggest is create a multi-checkbox field with your various badge names then use a delimiter field to condition that multi-checkbox and display an image if the value is selected. Example as follows.

Multicheckbox Values: Value1, Value2, Value3, Value4
Delimiter Field:
[cb:if cb_multicheckbox includes "Value1"]<img src="images/badges/value1.png" />[/cb:if]
[cb:if cb_multicheckbox includes "Value2"]<img src="images/badges/value2.png" />[/cb:if]
[cb:if cb_multicheckbox includes "Value3"]<img src="images/badges/value3.png" />[/cb:if]
[cb:if cb_multicheckbox includes "Value4"]<img src="images/badges/value4.png" />[/cb:if]

Or just install Awards Factory.

It's free and you can give badges/medals to users in the back panel OR set them to receive them automatically if X condition is met.
