Groupjive links was created by nikomed
Hi!

still have problems with groupjive links ...

i know that if you want to create direct menu link to special group / category, you can do it in groupive with the link at the menu and "create menu"

the idea is to have some special module for each groups (for example just a banner for the group "football". )

the problem is that all your module (groupjive module, activity module) have the link like : cb-groupjive/pluginclass?plugin=cbgroupjive&action=groups&func=show&cat=2&grp=18

So :

- when a user click the menu created by groupjive groups/groupname i can see the banner
- when a user click from your links (from acticty or groupjive module ) the banner is not showed !!! and sure more and more users are using groupjive module or activity to enter in groups because its links to latest news ...

is there a way to find a solution for this with joomla ? (intern redirection .. creating a special menu or alias ... ?)

if there is not a solution for joomla, why dont add a line in the groupjive database to rewrite path when you "create menu" in groupjive ? the groupjive and activity module will replace the old path by the newest ....

hope its clear  !

thx

joomla 1.5.27

cb 1.8.1

groupjive 2.5.3

i will do the migration next month but in my test i have the same problem ...with joomla 2.5 / cb 1.9 and groupjive 2.6.1

and i think its not question of version but of your module code ( groupjive module and activity module)

Don't understand the issue. GJ adds its menu links through Joomla menu API. CB uses the first menu link it finds so it's possible CB is picking up GJ menu link for its menu usage and causing its alias to display in other CB modules if that's the issue then no there is no fix at this time as CB doesn't have the ability yet to generate plugin based menu links (planned).
