Hello Krileon and All

Joomla! 2.5.8 stable, php 5.3.15, CB 1.9

I sent all registered users the same initial password; they changed it as they wished.

A registered user with her own password forgot it, selects "forgot login?" link, is sent a new password, but it is not recognized by CBlogin.

I noticed that the generated password is all lower case. But, the Profile form information popup says at least six characters, upper and lower case, numbers and symbols.

Could it be that CBlogin module rejects its own generated password because it does not conform to CBLogin's own rule? That sounds like a coding problem.

If not, what else might be going on?

Dan

______________

Pertinent part of new password email to the registered member:

The user account axwe jdedgti has this email associated with it.
A web user from uniconexed.org has just requested that a new password be sent.

Your New Password is: hxaxused

If you didn't ask for this, don't worry. You are seeing this message, not them. If this was an error just log in with your new password and then change your password to what you would like it to be.

NOTE: This email was automatically generated from uniconexed.org ( uniconexed.org ).

The password is randomly generated when using forgot login. There is no validation on passwords beyond registration and profile edit so logging in with a password not formatted to the validation settings of the password field won't matter. Check within _users and ensure the password wasn't stored with plaintext. Also ensure the password was input correctly (no trailing spaces for example).
