[SOLVED] Migration without jupgrade was created by nikomed
Hi! i'm still in joomla 1.5 and now all my component have a joomla 2.5 version so i am making some migration probe.

actual version : J1.5 + cb 1.9 + groupjive 2.6.1 + bootstrap

2 questions :

- i tried to migrate with jupgrade but didn't work. is there some "migration component" more compatible with CB?

- is there a way to migrate trough the database ?

i have installed my 2.5 joomla version + cb quickstart. now i have to copy fields to the new database .. is there possible ?

thx

The only migration extension supported is jUpgrade, because we wrote a migration script for and included with it. You can try using other migration extensions, but I've no idea how they'll behave with CB.

Yes, but only if you've quite experienced with SQL and are aware of the SQL differences between J1.5 and J2.5. I do not recommend this for the average user as you could easily destroy your site with a wrong query. If you just need to move users then use CB Juice.

Yes, move the _comprofiler_fields and _comprofiler_field_values database tables, but that won't add their rows to _comprofiler; just run tools afterwards and it will probably correct that though.

Thx a lot! we are on process and maybe we will need help!

Two things more:

(1) we tried an other time jupgrade and it worked well, just have this error everytime we want to acces at CB user (front end and back end) :

"Direct Access to this location is not allowed."

the others CB menu work well on back end : fields tab plugin ...

Know something about that?

(2) In parallel we are going to try to migrate reinstalling everything from scratch and the dumping the previous database tables in the new ones.

Do you have any documentation regarding the changes in the structure of the tables?

Thanks again.
