[SOLVED] Default user profiles and Mosets Tree

There is a new feature in the latest version of Mosets Tree which allows the display of listing owners details above their listings. For this to work, the default Joomla user profile and user picture plugins have to be enabled, and the listing owner details are taken from the information given through the standard Joomla registration. Since this is a new feature, I do not believe there is currently any way of using a CB profile with this feature in Mosets Tree, although I'm sure someone will write an extension for this in the near future, as its a great feature. If I want to use the standard Joomla user plugins, will I need to disable Community Builder or uninstall it? I assume that registration would have to go through the default Joomla 2.5 route, not through CB? is there some way of using the two systems in parallel, as I don't want to lose CB possibilities on the site, although they aren't such a core feature as on other sites I run.

You can use Joomla profile and CB profile at the same time, but note non-standard profile fields in Joomla profile will not transition to CB nor will updating Joomla profile fire the CB profile update triggers. You don't have to uninstall CB or anything drastic like that. Just enable Joomlas profile and create a Joomla menu link to it and it should work fine.

I do seem to be getting a few problems with this configuration. The registration process is throwing up some odd messages. Initially, when a a new user completes the registration, a box appears saying "no valid image uploaded", and returns the user to the registration page. It seems however that the details have been entered into the database, as the user shows up, just not enabled or confirmed, and if you carry on registering, contradictory messages appear on the front end saying on the one hand the user is already registered, and on the other, to complete the registration process. This all disappears when the Joomla user profile and image plugins are disabled, so they are clearly causing a conflict somewhere.
I have tried both the yes and no options in the "allow user registration" box in CB Configuration Manager, and set the corresponding options in the Joomla user manager, plus tried various option with image upload in the CB config manager, but the message about image upload still appears. Do you have any idea how to resolve this?

Sounds like Joomlas stopping CMS user save during CB registration with a validation error for some profile fields. I am not aware of any image plugin for Joomla profiles, but sounds like it's the problem. Also you need to ensure all the Joomla profile fields are set to Optional within User - Profile or you'll get validation errors at CB registration.

Thanks, and I think you're right. Actually I just checked and the plugin is written by Mosets, and must be installed automatically with the new update version 3. I'll contact them and see if there is anything they can do. Thanks for your help.
