Not without using CSS. You can only specify maximum sizes at this time. Ideally we want to improve our image library to allow for squared avatars easily.

Are there some news about this feature? When it is expected to be implemented?
It'll be implemented in CB 2.0 where we will have rewritten our image processing library. This feature will not be in a CB 1.x release.
