Hi, we have the following issue and hope somebody can help us.

We are using external url's in the menu to link to cb lists. When search engine friendly url's is not switched on we have the following link,

/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=usersList&listid=8&Itemid=220

And our modules are displaying correctly for that page, however when search engine friendly is turned on we ge the following link

/index.php/component/comprofiler/userslist/List Name?Itemid=220

Modules assigned to that page/menu are not displaying.

They only display if you select all pages in the module manager where as we don't want the module to display on every page, just a select few.

If anybody has the solution or information to help it would be appreciated.

Are you manually adding an Itemid to the URL? Is the URL an External URL? If either of the cases then this is normal as Joomla SEF does not allow Itemid on External URLs. You need to create an Internal URL to the userlist page then edit the menu item in _menus database table and append the listid, because on J1.6+ they removed backwards compatible for "task" in favor of "view" in menus so our parameters don't show.
