Auto should be fine. J2.5 and J3.0 usage is one in the same.I have it set as 2.5 in the config now, even though I'm using J3. Should I set it to auto detect or does it really matter (seems to work fine now)?
I can't comment on editor button plugins as CB Blogs has nothing to do with those. They function completely independent of CB Blogs. I suggest turning them off for registered users. This can easily be done by navigating to Joomla > Extension Manager > Plug-in Manager and setting the access to those editor buttons to Special. So with the JCE editor enabled for Registered users, I am able to see it as the editor for CB Blogs. However, the insert image button accesses the Joomla media folders/images, with the ability for front end users to delete files, which is worrisome to say the least (yikes). I know this is probably a JCE issue that I can configure but how is it normally supposed to work? Isn't every user supposed to get their own folder for their blog, in which to upload images into???

Category ACL is respected. So for example you can set a blog category to require Special access and only those with Special view access level can see and use that category.Question: In CB Blogs, once I have set it to use Joomla articles I can specify the article category in which those articles are saved. However is there a way to specify different categories for different groups of users? For example I want staff members to have their articles posted in a category which I will make public and normal users into a different category that is not public.
You can enable moderator blog approval within backend. Unpublished articles won't be shown in CB Articles and shouldn't be shown in the built in article plugin. CB Blogs will show them, but they can't be clicked to be viewed as Joomla doesn't allow this and is there for management purposes; only owner and moderators will see unpublished entries. Also, it seems that the article list within CB profile gives a link to the category which means that all users who submit an article (blog entry) will be able to click on that link and see all other articles submitted by other users. I don't want this. I want articles to be approved first. So I have enabled approval in CB Blogs config. How do I specify moderators?
Please see your CB documentation regarding moderator usergroup usage. Yes, a CB Moderator can edit Blogs, approve blogs, and delete blogs freely; all done from the Blog tab, not done from Joomla.Update: Regarding moderators, found the setting in the CB config, under the "moderation" tab. Duh! So I assume once I set up a group and set them as moderators this will enable them to edit blog entries from the front end???
No, CB Blogs is managed from CB Blogs, it has nothing to do with Joomla access permissions. However, since the content type is a Joomla article, I can also allow a user group permission to edit and publish/unpublish articles from the front end via Joomla permissions. Would enabling moderators via CB config allow them to edit blog entries the same way, and would that restrict them to only that category specified for CB Blogs (since I don't want them editing all articles, just CB Blogs)?
