CBSubs - Upgrade from lifetime subscription?

11 years 6 months ago #224494 by gerrygerry
I have several membership subscription plans available on my site using CBSubs. I'm also pretty new to CBSubs.

I've created a few different 1-year subscription plans (ranging from $25/year - $135/year), there is a lifetime subscription plan available ($1500), as well as a limited lifetime subscription plan for free (gets us registered users, but not actual members of our organization).

I've configured each paid plan with the "Propose plan for upgrades only if it is more expensive:" set to "Yes: It will be possible to upgrade to this plan only if it's more expensive (default)".

Strangely, when someone has the $1500 lifetime plan all paid up, the other paid plans ($25/year - $135/year) are still listed as options for upgrade possibilities.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm missing? I feel like there must be something obvious I'm overlooking... thanks!

Believe that only applies in limited situations to allow for tiered pricing (purchase plan 1, now plan 2 is shown, purchase plan 3, now plan 4 is shown, etc..). Best way to have what you're wanting is to use Conditionals that you can configure on the Workflows tab of your plans. This allows you to set plans to display or not based off other plans being active, expired, etc.. or even based off a CB field value.

Thanks for clarifying!

I've created a cb_field (checkbox, "Lifetime Member") that I've configured to be toggled with the activation and deactivation of the plan... but again, I must be missing something, because the field doesn't seem to "uncheck" when the lifetime plan is deactivated... any ideas on this one?

Once I get this toggling working, I believe understand how to set the conditional upgrade parameters (on each of my other paid plans).

So the field is being checked properly when subscribed, but isn't being unchecked when unsubscribed? How are you unsubscribing? Using the cancel subscription button or just upgrading to another plan? If just upgrading to another plan please try using the cancel button and see if it works fine. Also ensure you've CBSubs set to create subscriptions for lifetime plans within CBSubs > Settings > Global.

Correct, it's checked when the subscription is activated, but not unchecked via any means of subscription deactivation (whether it be via "upgrade" to another plan, or via manual deactivation in the back-end, or even via subscription deletion in the back-end). I'd be glad to PM some admin credentials to you so that you can take a look...?
