CB User Manager Not displaying all users was created by cberry1971
Hi,

I just restored a backup using akeeba backup to a development site for testing. Upon opening the backend, I am showing (screenshot) 494 members (5 pages at 100/page). However there are 929 members in my system and in the comprofiler table (screenshot 2).

What has happened? The members actually are visible on the front end when I search for them, but not in the backend... very confused.

Run CB > Tools > Synchronize and see if it resolves. The user must exist in _users and _comprofiler as well. Existing in _comprofiler is not enough for the user to exist on your site and is ignored.

no change. i did get the following screenshot

so for example this user here is in the comprofiler table but not in _users or the back end of cb. how do i get him into users?

this person is in the live site but somehow gets lost in the backup. in live he is in _comprofiler and _users and shows up in the CB backend.

how do i get him into users?

You can't. You have no username, name, email, or password for that user; he doesn't exist. You could create a new CB User, delete their _comprofiler row, edit the broken _comprofiler row and give him the User ID of the new CB user and that should work.

this person is in the live site but somehow gets lost in the backup. in live he is in _comprofiler and _users and shows up in the CB backend.

Use CB Juice to export from your live site and CB Juice to import into your new site and you completely eliminate any of these issues.

Ok this seems like it must be a akeeba backup / restore issue as the users who have the name %like% "nathan" in my live site are different from the backup despite my making no other changes. Would you agree??? Screenshots of live vs. backup.

They look fine except your backup for 3 people have no usergroups, which isn't correct as they should have at least Registered. The two Nathans I see in your backup seam ok aside from that. Your live site seams to have a 3rd Nathan and am just guessing that he was created afterwards.

The user must exist in _users and _comprofiler for CB to consider them existing. If they exist only in _users then running tools fixes it, but if they only exist in _comprofiler then they're no user row with password or anything. The best way to export/import CB users is using CB Juice.
