Current situation;
- Joomla 1.5.26
- CB 1.9
- CBSubs 3.0

Problem;
Suddenly since 04/04/2013 I see following problems on my CBSubs system;
- Random no automatic membership upgrade registrations.
- Notification: IPN Basket non-existant - VERIFIED
- Random no registration of the membership in CBSubs.

All payment transactions are confirmed to be payed by Paypal, however this Paypal feedback (IPN) is not registered in CBSubs.

- Missing & strange (e.g.: Latest delivery attempt date/time 28/06/1985 20:15 GMT+02:00) PayPal IPN history (see attachment).

So there is no option to re-send the IPN history via Paypal due to the missing/wrong information.

What can be the reason of this problem?

The not ok IPN looks like the purchase was made and created in the system before you had setup IPNs properly. The only way to fix that is have them cancel their subscription and resubscribe so the new recurring subscription has the properly information stored to it so PayPal can send an IPN for it. This information gets stored on PayPals end and if it wasn't setup properly when first purchase is made then PayPal has no information to properly send the IPN on recurring payments. Does this happen with all recurring payments as of lately or just a select few? If a select few try to check their payment history and see when they first subscribed.

I found following info on the internet!!

Title: Paypal notify_url is empty even though it is passed on the form

Answer: This is a known issue that we're currently working to resolve.
IPN messages will still send as normal, but the IPN history page may not reflect the right state / notify_url details.

I can't find a real Paypal confirmation for this statement!
I'm afraid I'm not the only person with this kind of IPN problems...

So PayPal has informed you there's an IPN History bug? I'm not sure I understand your findings. We send the notify_url with every purchase, but if PayPal stored the recurring payment without a notify_url then this is an issue on PayPals end. The only fix would be to cancel that recurring profile and have them re-subscribe for recurring payments when they expire so a new notify_url can be sent. CBSubs does not trigger renewals, it receives from from PayPal.

Today 27/04/2013 I received a formal "PayPal problem" confirmation of the "Missing & wrong IPN history" problems I raised in this ticket!

Your issue has been assigned to me, firstly please accept my apologies for the delay in response and resolution of this issue.
We are currently working on a fix and will have it deployed ASAP, I will update you once the deploy has occurred. The fix should resolve all displayed errors within the IPN. If you still experience any issue after the fix please let MTS know ASAP.
