I was wondering if there is a plugin that would allow for avatars to be cropped by the user during the registration process and in the profile. I found this plugin
here
but it seems the download has been taken down while it is in development.
I am aware that this isn't anything to do with community builder but if you have any knowledge of when this plugin will be made available again or some other solution that would be greatly appreciated. I have contacted the creator of Advanced Avatar 2.0 but no reply as of yet.
We've nothing of the sort at this time, but we'll have such a feature in CB 2.0. Can't help in regards to the 3rd party plugin as its developer would need to review, fix, or update it as needed.

its really really important to have that in the next version of CB! avatar is so important in a profile and community! and doesn't help no have this function ...
is there a way now to put a maximum size for upload (not only in kbytes but width ad height) ?
like user cannot upload an image more than 400 width. i saw somethin like that in the backend but seems no to work perfectlty !

You always could put a maximum height/width. You just can't put a minimum. See CB > Configuration > Images for such parameters or edit your image fields individually to have field by field settings.
