Resource usage

Hi,
I was warned by my hoster that cpu usage was too high as well as database usage. Checking this we found some malware which could be deleted and some other security measures were taken. However the problem remained. I hired a freelancer to optimize the website and he suggested to uninstall CB, which is an idea that I do not like very much.
Has anybody similar experiences, would uninstalling CB reduce the server overload? And what if I re-install it? I cannot see that would be a solution, but anyway just like to ask about your experiences.

If you were hacked you should re-install everything so all the files are clean and haven't been tampered with. It's common for a hacker to edit a file and give them a backdoor, re-installing will remove those as the files are overwritten with clean files. I've no idea what your specific slowdown is caused by, but as with Joomla extensions the more CB plugins you install the more memory it's going to use; best way to determine what is using most memory is disable CB plugins 1 by 1 and monitor the usage and see if it improves with each disable.
