how to create a field with two single select drop down options

Hi,
i need to create a field with two drop down options -

height: feet ( 1 - 7) inches (0 - 12)

is that possible?

Create 2 dropdown fields and place them 1 after another on the same tab then use CSS to move them around as needed.

i put them one after another in one tab, but even if with css styling they still will be 2 fields,
it's ok during the registration, but how to make them appear as one unit during the user listing/search, is it any possibility of nesting them? or uniting?

Yes, they have to be two fields. If you want the two fields to be side by side in profile and userlists you can use a delimiter field to format their profile display using substitutions. Example as follows in a delimiter field.

[cb_feet]`[cb_inches]

does not work:( in userlists it doesnot show up at all and during registration shows code against fils delimiter title. what i am doing wrong?

The usage has nothing to do with profile edit or registration, you need to use CSS to change those displays. As explained in my previous post it's for profile display so they display in a single field when viewing someones profile for example.
