Field visibility query was created by
Hi Guys

Does anyone know if its possible to show a field in a user list eve if that field is set to not show on profile? The list would only be accessible to admins so can we override the visibility?

Only way we've managed to do this for some other fields is to put them in a new tab that only admins can access and then show on profile but then the user cannot see of edit them and in this instance we want user editable fields to be only visible to admins?

Or could we somehow duplicate the field so one is hidden and user editable and when updated it copies over to another alias type field that can be seen in our admin tab on user lists? Could the query field be used to do this?

Thanks in advance for any ideas....

Set the field to display on profile then move it to a tab that is in a not shown on profile position. It would then remain editable from profile edit as normally, but won't display on profile yet can be displayed on a userlist.

Hi
Thank you for such a quick response :)

Ahhh I've never spotted those positions further down that drop down list called "Not displayed on Profile 1 to 9"

OK so we can't have it as a tab along with the other tabs....

We have some tabs that only admins can access but then that would stop the user from being able to edit so guess your suggestion is the only and best way :)

Great I'll give that a try and see if works for us.

Thanks again.

Hi

Actually just thinking through this won't it mean that us admins also won't be able to see this tab when viewing profiles? We would want to see it.

Any way of doing that so only admins could see it but the user can also see it when registering and editing their own profile?

You can use the lastest CB Privacy. Once installed edit the tab and set the privacy controls to moderator only. Then set the default privacy to View Access Level > Special. Now only your moderators should see it and the user should be able to edit it as normally.
