Yesterday as I was adding more articles to site ran into this error: Error loading module MySQL server has gone away (see attached). I'm beginning to wonder if there is a general rule about how many categories and/or articles you can have in Joomla 1.7 (or any release). Has anyone ever run into this issue? I can find similar problems on the internet but no solutions. This appears to be a timeout issue with the host when trying to access the database.
The symptom is that when I now try to add anything new from the backend - the screen just goes blank and nothing is saved. The front end appears fine and I can still update an existing article. The problem is only with the backend.
No idea, looks like an issue in Joomla it self. Seams to be trying to load a module that maybe doesn't exist? I suggest upgrading to at least Joomla 2.5.x and see if issue persists as 1.7 is quite old and buggy at this point.
