If statement in Substitutions escaping special characters

Is there a way to check field content which contains special characters in an IF statement?

For example, I want to check if cb_myfield="x" while x = CI"C

[cb:if cb_myfield="CI\"C"]text[/cb:if] Doesn't work... 'CI"C' also doesn't work (or single quotes in general).

Any suggestion?

You can try encoding it, but no idea if it'll work. You may want to use language strings if this is a select field. Example of trying with encoding.
