How to invite more than one person to a group.

11 years 4 months ago #228355 by edinn_global
I would like to know if it is possible to invite more than one person to a group.
I am trying to invite 40 persons to a group, do I have to introduce every email one by one or can I do it from a users' directory?

It is very inefficient to do it by hand and what if I do not know their emails and I just know their username?

Thank you in advanced,

Ana.

You can't invite more than 1 person per invite. You can invite by User ID, Name, Username, or Email. Simply type a complete or incomplete username and it'll invite the user. For incomplete Usernames it'll try to find all users that match your supplied criteria then present you with a page to select which one is the correct one.

Ok, thank you for anwering my quiestion.

I still tink that is not logic to do it by hand and that it should be a directory. You maybe don't know their emails ot their exact username.

You don't need to know their exact username or name. It can do partial matches. Email of course needs to be exact though. You can even enable the Connections selector in GJ configuration so they can select from a dropdown one of their Connections.

Just type part of their name or username and click to invite. If it finds a exact match it'll invite the exact match. If it finds a partial match it'll show you a page with all partial matches for you to select one to invite. This assumes you allow Name and/or Username inviting within GJ > Config > Groups > Invites > General with the "Invite By" parameter. To have the connections dropdown set "Connections" to "Enable" at the same location as "Invite By".
