Is there a way in CB_Privacy to set the default value to not visible, so that the users themselves have to choose it to be public (I have a site used by minors and safety is essential)?
Yes, when enabling a field or tab to have user or moderator controlled privacy a multi select displays below it for you to select the default privacy value. Note default privacy does not work if the profile has already been saved with the privacy set to something.
