Hello! I've seen this problem addressed in this forum before, but I can't seem to solve my particular instance of it with the information I've read.
I'm using CB 1.9, Joomla 2.5.8.
I created a public CB Profile page in my Joomla menu.
My members are not able to send themselves their usernames/passwords. Here's what happens:
They click on "Forgot login?"
They check a box for "Lost username" or "Lost password" and fill in the information as prompted.
They are directed back to the original log-in screen with this message across the top: "Please login first."
NOTE: When the user is logged in, the username/password reminders work GREAT - but, of course, they don't need them when they're logged in.
Any advice?
Sounds Itemid related and Joomla menu is blocking it due to non-access to the Itemid. The forgot login page will use the CB Registration menu item before using Profile menu item if it exists. Disable all SEF then navigate to Forgot Login and review what the Itemid is in the URL. Next review Joomla menu items to find what menu item that Itemid belongs to. Once found ensure that menu item is Public.

Thank you - you were right. It wasn't an easy thing for me to find the problem itemid; the process didn't exactly go as you'd explained. (Does it ever? I ended up just making my whole site public, and then testing the "Forgot Login" feature. It worked! Then I began changing the pages I wanted to remain private back to "Registered" one by one. I discovered that the page I had designated as my Home page was the culprit; my site kept trying to load it when a user requested their login information. I needed a public home page to get the process to complete.
Thank you, again!
