Is it also possible to show a valdition error like the other fields when a user uploads a wrong image type? Now a alert box pops up en goes to the profile page.
It should already error and tell them they supplied wrong file type. Where are you uploading from? Profile image page? Profile edit avatar field? An image field in profile edit?

They uploading from a image field in the profile edit. This is the same as a Profile edit avatar field right?
I have 2 image fields, one for a avatar and one for a other image on the page.
I'm not sure what the issue is. Please see the below where it's working fine. It shows an alert with the error and once you press ok there is a message on the page that also tells you what went wrong.

I have this popup as wel but after clicking this away it's going to the profile page.
But why the alert and not like the other validations?
Is it possible to set this to normal validation? or when clicking the alert box away it's stay's on the edit profile page?
