send email based on field date was created by Sarah_au
Hi I have a tab that has two fields on it that use the date function to enter a date. Next dentist appointment and next doctors appointment for example.
Is there a way to send a reminder email a week before the due date and again on the due date?

Yes, create an email action with the "Internal Users" trigger. Next adjust its conditional as needed to check a week before the date field (see parameter descriptions as date functions are provided or use a CB Query Field to calculate if it's time to email or not). Then setup a CRON to run once per day to the "Internal Users" URL found within CB Auto Actions > Config > Internal.

Thanks for that Kyle. I did not have time to have more than a quick look (That's why it's taken so long for me to get back to this) and it was beyond me. Is there a tutorial somewhere that I can view about how to use the "internal users" trigger and what is needed?

No, there is no tutorial. Simple create an action with the trigger Internal Users (this will run the action on every CB user). Next navigate to CB Auto Actions > Config > Internal and click the Internal Users URL. This will fire the action you just created. You can then use this URL in a CRON task if you want it to fire at scheduled intervals. Contact your host for CRON usage information.
