Hi,
facing the same problem with database limitation, this time for file, video and image fields, they are all varchar(255), change them to text? i'm not making those fields searchable within the user list, they will only be available for download/view on profile. will this affect the quality? images, and in some file fields i allowed .mp3, .jpg and .png

Changing them from varchar to text shouldn't hurt their usage. I suggest making a backup of your database before making the change though encase you need to rollback the change.
