Hi, what my client wants to do seems to fall between different offered functionality - or I am missing something obvious!
They want to maintain a range of email templates for different purposes that they can manually trigger/use as required to a designated user or users. The email templates need to use personalization (ie incorporate cb data fields), and may also include an attachment. They also want the ability to manually tailor/augment the email before it is sent.
In looking around I see:
1. The CBS Mailer functionality but this seems to require setting of automated triggers rather than manual activation against a selected user or users.
2. The CBS Email plugin but this seems to be restricted to certain CBS event triggers
3. The CB User Mgt Mass Mail functionality but this seems to not have the ability to save/access templates.
I think the last is the most promising for my client but short of asking them to copy and paste in html code stored elsewhere, I am not sure how to handle the need for a set of message templates.
Am I missing something obvious? Or is there a better way outside CB that can still access the CB data fields?
Sounds exactly like what a Newsletter extension does. CB doesn't have this functionality. I suggest looking into AcyMailing.
