Hi, I'm experiencing so many weird things with my J3.1.5 site that I'm contemplating rebuilding it from scratch but I'd like to keep the few users logins and data intact and copy them over to the newly created site.

I see there are a few extensions that claim they can help export/import such things but does anyone have any particular recommendations or best practices to follow when doing so?

In particular, I'd like to copy CB users, Group Jive content and standard Joomla articles. I can cope with a certain amount of manual reconfiguration or copy/pasting from one to the other, but it would be great to automate as much as possible if I can.

In case you're wondering, the site was initially J2.5, migrated to J3 and all seemed fine but what with the various extension trials, updates and alterations made everywhere in the site over the last 14 months as it was developed, things have got a little bit screwed up and I feel starting a clean install will help get things running smoothly again now that I know how the site should be structured.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions...

CB Juice is hands down the best way to export and import user data.

As you're already on the latest Joomla release you can just directly export all the _groupjive database tables and import them into your new install. You should be able to do this for CBs entire database and various other extensions/plugins as well as you're not migrating so there's no risk of much incompatibility.
