I have 3 subscription plans that a user can choose. During my step-by-step process a user selects the plan they want then they fill in their registration information. When they press register, they are taken to the screen that shows them the cost...etc...

On this page, I see a link to cancel a subscription, but is there an easy way I can let the user choose another subscription plan, in case, they have changed their mind? Is there a "back button" or "choose another plan" feature that I need to activate?

Thank you.

No, if they cancel the basket then they're just cancelling the subscription part. They will still be registered at this time and the only way to pick a new plan is to login and select one from the Subscription tab on their profile.

So there is no way to edit the basket during checkout?

What would you suggest as a alternate workflow to somehow allow the user to change the subscription, without getting confused and leaving the site?

My concern is that if the user presses the cancel button and doesn't have instruction on what do do next, they may never come back and I will lose the sell.

Any suggestions?

The chances of a user selecting the wrong plan and going through all of that is slim to none. I have no alternative proposal unless you want to wait and let them select a plan after they've completely registered from their Subscription profile tab. You could even set up the first time login redirect within CB > Configuration > Registration to redirect them to the CBSubs plans page to pick a plan when they first login. The URL for this is as follows.

index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=pluginclass&plugin=cbpaidsubscriptions&do=displayplans
