CB Rating field - display amount or total num?

11 years 1 month ago #233493 by pepperstreet
Just checked it out for the first time. AFAIK, the field loggs certain infos. The help tooltip says: IP, userID, date, time.

I wonder if it is possible to retrieve and show the total votes?!

It could be useful to display the number in frontend. It might also allow a usage as "Like it" button with only "1 Star".

You can use the CB Query Field to pull whatever data you like from its database table. It uses the total for the simple purpose of calculating total rating. To have 1 star I believe you can set "Number of Units:" to "1" for that.

You mentioned a new core Rating/Points field. Does it already store or update the total numbers in a specific location? Or do I still have to query this information?

You mentioned a new core Rating/Points field.

The new core fields will use a new database table to store their information.

Does it already store or update the total numbers in a specific location?

Yes, it currently stores ratings in _comprofiler_ratingfield_log.

Or do I still have to query this information?

You have to query this information. New rating field that'll be in CB 1.10.0 will probably have an option to display the total ratings.
