Kunena 3.0, Groupjive and CB was created by who_else
Got some weird things around the Kunenaintegration with CB. Using the Kunena integration plugin for CB, it wouldn't show any categories or sections, but it did show this:

Finally i got it working, somehow, after i activated the joomla plugin for kunena and deactivated the cb plugin, but i am pretty sure, that this isn't the way it should be used, right?

First it looked like that:

with that settings on categories and sections:

So what?

Thank you.

Best

PS: I found a similar post, www.joomlapolis.com/forum/18-general-requests/222009-kunena-204-cb-integration-problem#230912 but i wanted to have the forum only for registerd members, not for guests. I am looking currently into GroupJive, but thats another story.

I don't understand the problem. What's your issue? GroupJive forums not working or Kunena in general not working? If Kunena in general isn't working then please post to the Kunena forums as we are not Kunenas developer.

My Problem is, that it looks like it would only work with Community Builder, if i use GroupJive, see first pict, which says, if i activate "Zugang Communitybuilder" it shows GroupJive Group: PLG_KUNENA_COMPROFILE, so i assume, i need GroupJive and CB Integration to get this going or am i mistaken?

Just to make sure. I want CB to control the access to the forum, and the forum is only for registerd users, not for guests.

Thank you.

You don't need GroupJive for CB and Kunena to work together. You just need to enable Kunenas CB plugin from Kunena Forum > Plug-in Manager. Once done that's all you need to do. If you want to display Kunena forum posts on profiles you'll need to enable the Forum integration or install CB Forums.

It also looks like you set various categories to be CB access controlled, don't do this. That's just so API calls control access to a category. You have no use for this without GJ, which would set this automatically so forums are private to GJ groups. Just give your categories normal view access levels or usergroup access. None of your categories appear published either.

For further help I suggest posting to Kunena forums or reviewing the Kunena documentation below.

www.kunena.org/docs/Main_Page

Just to make sure. I want CB to control the access to the forum, and the forum is only for registerd users, not for guests.

Then you just set the view access level access for your category to Registered. CB is not an access control extension.
