Hi,

When I go to CB User Manager and click on a user to edit it, the page opens on the Joomla index page e.g. www.example.com/administrator/index.php

In the apache log, I am seeing this:

PHP Warning: Unknown: Input variables exceeded 1000

Thanks

How many fields do you have? I don't see how this could be happening unless something is adding a ton of variables to _GET, _POST, or _REQUEST. Try disabling non-core CB plugins 1 by 1 until resolved. If not resolved you'll need to use Chrome or Firefox with Firebug and monitor the "Network" tab when you click a user (ensure it's set to persist through page loads) so you can see what's being sent with the POST.

That explains it then. You have way too many fields. Your POST input size is going to very easily surpass limits. You'll need to adjust max_input_vars in php.ini to something like 2000 and you should be ok.
