We are a not-for-profit RV association. Our Web site is set up for new members to request site access. After their request notification we check to make sure they are members of the Association.
For the last month I have been having multiple requests from various individuals who have no connection with the Association. It almost seems as though they have an automatic system whereby when I send a rejection notice they just send another request. I have had as many as 75 requests in a 24hr period.
Is there any way I can stop this without interfering with valid requests????????
Sounds like spam bots. Install CB AntiSpam and enable the Captcha field in CB > Field Management. Having Captcha on your registration page can help combat spam bots. Also you maybe able to automate your approval process. How do you determine they're a member of the Association? A database table with name, email, or some way to identify someone with the association? As you could use CB Query Field and its Query Validation to validate a users field value against a database to ensure the value exists proving they're an Association. You could then turn off admin approval and it would only let those that are valid register.
