We use Kunena for the forum with CB and CBsubs.
We decided to keep the forum open for reading for everyone, even those not registered as members in CB.
But, we want to capitalize that benefit and want to promote the subscription with guests (not logued) users who get to the forum without being subscribers.
Is there a way that we can show some kind of add (pop-up simulated maybe) that only appears when the user is not a registered user?
Best approach is probably to create the Guest view access level then create a custom HTML module with the new Guest view access level so only users not logged in would see it. You can then put whatever advertisement you want in the module. Please see the below Joomla tutorial on how to create the Guest view access level.
