I have installed the latest version of CBConnect and when testing it out a user is created and I can it in the backend. However, the profile menu item doesn't appear as it should when a person is logged in and using CBConnect based on the way I believe I configured it the person should be automatically approved.

Even when I try to log in using the new profile it still won't grant access to the profile page.

I have a public profile item published on a menu that is not visible, so i'm not sure what I need to do to get it working correctly. I have searched the forums and haven't found a solution that seems to work.

The site is not complete yet so I have kept it offline, but I can make it live in order for the plug-in to be tested in order to provide some feedback.

The site is www.artistvip.com

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That's a Joomla access error. So it has to be menu item related. Disable all SEO then retest and see what URL it's trying to redirect you to. Ensure your login redirect within CB Connect is a valid URL beginning with index.php that the user can access.

Thanks for the quick response,

I have tried the settings some more based on your feedback and I am still stuck. I have reviewed many of the posts to see if others have had the same issue and if so how they resolved it.

This is not a migration from J1.5, I don't have CBSubs as a subscription service. After the CBConnect plugin didn't work I tested to see I could register a new account through the CB login/registration and the same error is happening. I can only login from the front if I use the superuser login.

Update***
It must have something to do with Joomla version 2.5.14, I deleted the entire site from the server and reinstalled everything using Joomla version 2.5.4 and now everything is working fine. Facebook and twitter automatically sign in a new user and redirect them to their profile page. I like to try and work with the newest version of software but I'm afraid if I upgrade it now it will mess up again like before.

Any advice as far as future upgrades to avoid the same issue?

Thanks

I don't think version had anything to do with it. You had a configuration issue. Completely deleting your install removed the configuration issue. So you should be able to update perfectly fine.

I appreciate your quick response once again.

I thought that very same thing, so once I had it set up, I tested it several times by creating several profiles and even logging in using CB Connect and it worked flawlessly.

Then I updated to the newest version of Joomla and the login error came back. Somehow the update to the newest version (2.5.14) messed up the access.

Since I knew you were away during the weekend I tried out several different things. After the error returned I deleted the entire site again and reinstalled to an earlier version and it worked fine again. Then I updated to version 2.5.11 and it still worked fine.

I figure i'll just leave it there, it has to be the latest version that is messing it up. I didn't change any of the configurations when I had the login working and then updated it to 2.5.14.

At least it's working now, so I can move forward with what I was trying to do
