User Management Not Working

User Management Not Working was created by edmundcheong
I have added some new fields over a few hundred fields on CB (718 fields including CB's mandatory fields).. and when i logged in to admin today, my user management page is not working..

I cant create new user, filter the users, search, edit, click on different pages, increase user per page (pagination) etc (basically everything which has to do with user management).. all it does is go back to the joomla admin landing page page..

the other features are okay (plugin, fields, tab, etc).. is it a php memory problem?

the joomla user management is fine but I am not able to edit joomla fields from there..

some other info, when i added the fields yesteday, my joomla site could not load the edit profile page but I have increased php memory, and that problem was solved.. but not the admin user management site..

Over 700 fields is way too many. That's extremely excessive and is going to massively slow down your queries. You're probably hitting memory limits. Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration then retest to expose the errors. You may want to reconsider your field setup to reduce it to a more manageable amount of fields.

I am testing the threshold.. ;)

Anyway, i have reduced the number of fields from 700 to 540.. and it seems to be working..

What I suggest, is to create a plugin to create another comprofiler table.. for example comprofiler2 so that we can extend more information..

We'll be reviewing better field management in a later release of CB (probably CB 3.0). We can't change it so easily at the moment as that's risk of breaking every CB site. Changing to InnoDB helps a lot for speed and column size limitations (we will probably be forcing this change in CB 1.10.0).

Looking forward to that.. especially the innodb and the multi comprofiler tables if that is in the pipeline.. that would improve the flexibility of of CB field management usage..

You can make the InnoDB change now if you like within phpmyadmin for example. Just change all CB tables to InnoDB and that should remove column size limits for CB, but I still don't recommend 700 fields as that's over 700 database columns for 1 table.
