Is it possible to keep the Category & its posts in Kunena upon a Group being deleted?

Nope, even if it did no one could access the category or the posts as their access is determined by GJ and the access would always fail as the group doesn't exist to check against.

If I move the posts to a newly created category before the group is deleted, will this be a way to save them?

By the way, does the forum only store the wall posts in a group or does it also store the video, image and file info?

If it just wall posts and posts are deleted, do they also get deleted in Kunena (synced)?

Yes, the link between GJ and Kunena is category based. Moving the post to a new category will allow the posts to remain just fine.

Don't understand the question. Forum usage is completely separate from the Wall, Photo, File, and Video integrations. The forum is entirely Kunena driven so it behaves like any other Kunena category except the access to it is determined by GJ.

Wall has nothing to do with Forum so deleting a Wall does nothing to Kunena.

Ah yes, thanks for clarifying. Looks to me like the wall and forum offer the same time of "conversation" style of communicating. I'm thinking it might be confusing for people to see a wall and forum tab in the group when they both offer a similar way to exchange dialogue. I should go with one or the other, unless the wall offers something the forum doesn't.

One thing I noticed and liked about the wall though is a reply to a wall post appears as indented whereas a forum reply is only showing up as a post underneath.

Depends entirely on your needs. Using forum instead of wall gives you the complete power of Kunena for your discussions, which means a lot more features as it's a full forum solution. Wall is very basic post/reply usability, but it's much easier to use due to this fact.

Yup, what's even better is next GJ release will support unlimited nested depth so you can have unlimited reply depth.
